We ventured to the mall this evening to finish up our holiday shopping. Dan & Avery took off to shop for Sawyer’s gift from Avery while Sawyer and I wasted time waiting to meet them for dinner. Sawyer had already bought his gifts for Avery.

Just as we were meeting up to have dinner we heard a mariachi band performing upstairs in the food court. Avery and I went to check it out while Dan and Sawyer waited for our table to be ready. It was fun to watch and listen to them perform. The MC started talking in Spanish and Avery was jumping up and down raising her hand. What is she volunteering for?!? The band started playing another song. She then went straight up the MC to talk to her… I followed but I had no idea what their conversation was about.

When we sat back down I asked Avery what was going on. She told me, “I’m going to sing a song from school on stage.” Say what? What song? I was a little nervous for her.

The MC called her up there and I could tell the band was nervous!! She did it. She sang the song with the guitars accompanying her. It was awesome!! She got a round of applause at the end. She loved it.

Dan asked her is she was nervous, she replied, “No, I don’t get nervous,” like it was a crazy question to ask. She is so brave.
