Last year we did an activity during the 25 days leading up to Christmas day. It wasn’t necessarily a “giving” activity, but something to make our own traditions. This takes a lot of planning, I’ve already begun for this year. December first is right around the corner! I learned last year that what works and what doesn’t. So I made a few changes.
donate a book to library- this year we’ll donate to our school or classroom library
donate canned good- Awanas
Go Christmas carolling. We’ll go with A’s Awana group this year
Watch “Rudolph,” one of our favorites
make and send out a card to a soldier
make playdo to share at school (white with peppermint and red and green glitter)
decorate the front window for the holidays
help dad put up the Christmas lights
volunteer at the food bank
make Christmas cookies- for neighbor and mail man (2 days)
set up the Nativity scene
wrap donated Christmas gifts
go check out the Christmas lights
bring a flower to a friend
Make homemade hot chocolate
Buy a gift to donate
Go see The Nutcracker
Holiday concert
We spread out reading parts of the Christmas story from the Bible. Last year it was just the three of of us, but this year we’ll have Sawyer join us.
The Angel Visits Mary (Mark 1:1-8)
Read Luke 1:26-38
Read Matthew 1:18-24
Christmas Eve: Read Luke 2:1-5.
Merry Christmas: Read Isaiah 9:1-6.
Any other great ideas I can add to my list?

Okay this is awesome! I am doing the same thing this year and was just putting together my list of activities to do my advent tomorrow! I will have to steal some of yours! I will post mine on my blog too when I am done so you can steal any you like! I am doing the last 12 days of Christmas as Service projects and the rest of Dec as other things!
OK, Larissa, we can combine ideas, sounds good.
I need to write them all down on paper to put them in her advent calendar now.
See you soon!!
