September 5th

September 5th is National Cheese Pizza Day. We celebrated a little late, but we did make our own cheese pizza. Avery pretty much made the pizzas and I assisted by putting them in the oven. She had a plain cheese pizza and she made Dan’s with salami & pepperoni.  I wasn’t feeling so great, so I didn’t want any.

Pumpkin Patch

Avery’s preschool went to Falkner Farms to visit the pumpkin patch. It was a nice cool day, with a breeze. We went on a hay ride, we got to pick up and pet a few farm animals, listened to a pumpkin story, went thru the hay & corn maze, climbed up the hay tower and then picked a pumpkin to take home.

Avery went into the pen with the goats and a mama pig too. She didn’t want anything to do with the ducklings. She tried to pick it up and it tried to get aways, she didn’t like the webbed feet and claws. Sawyer liked them though, they were soft.

Avery and her friends got to help tell the story on how a pumpkin grows.

Avery liked the corn maze the best. She went through it a few times. She came out a different way each time…

A visit from Mr Happy & Little Miss Sunshine

Avery’s class is the “Smiley Faces” at her preschool. Their “mascot” is Mr Happy & Little Miss Sunshine. Each kid gets to take them home for a few days. They write about in the journal & take pictures too.
Avery had a lot of fun taking them all over the place. They went to the library, to Bella’s house and out to dinner with us.
She made them their own bed with a blanket & pillow. They were very comfy!!

“surfer dude” baby shower

My friend Maya is due on Christmas Day with baby Dusty. Her husband is a surfer and his parents live in Hawaii, so we decided to do a “surfer dude” baby shower for her to get ready for baby Dusty. The colors were orange & green.

I made this frame for a Baby Dusty. We put a sonogram picture in for now.

We had the guests decorate bibs for Baby Dusty. We had plain white bibs and acrylic paint to get creative with. They turned pretty awesome. There were some very creative ladies there!!

We put this saying around “Take 5″ mini candy bars as the hostess gift. We printed it on white paper and put it on “surfer paper” background. CUTE. We put them into paper orange cups with scrap paper as a handle so it looked like a beach bucket!

Thanks for coming to the baby shower. Here is a little reminder of the Hawaiian lifestyle to take home with you. Take 5 and “Hang loose”. Love, Rory, Maya, Aeden & baby Dusty!

twins?

no, were not twins!

no, we're not twins!

We went to a birthday party and met my twin. We both happened to wear the same shirt. We both bought them at the same store (Kohl’s), for super cheap. It was both our first time wearing the shirt too!! Just funny.
