Prayer Warrior

In line at the grocery store I told Avery that we needed to go straight home to eat lunch and take a nap because I had a headache. She put her hand on my forehead and prayed “mama’s head hurt, animals, colors and Amen…”

She prays for animals and colors everyday, but this was the first time she prayed for someone on her own!!

If you need prayer she is available in the mornings. Please call for an appointment and availability. PS No charge, but donations accepted.

Pumpkin Patches

We were able to go to three pumpkin patches this year. All were very different from each other…

When we were in Washington we went to an apple farm that also had pumpkins. Their big “thing” was that they made apple cider and apple fritters (do-nuts)!!

We went to Big Wave Daves. Not really a pumpkin “patch” but a nice place to pick pumpkins. We bought the little one!

Underwood Family Farms in Moorpark. We went during the week and there wasn’t much open. But we got to go on the hay ride (pulled by a tractor), check out the pumpkins and the animals.

trick or treat

This was the first year that Avery real “understood” Halloween. She went up and said “trick or treat” to most of the houses and even a few thank yous.

Waited too long

I had a doctor’s appointment at 10:15. Avery and I got there in time to check in and wait. After a few people who came in after me got to go in, I thought about asking the front desk ladies, but decided to wait, since there are multiple doctors in this one office and you never know who they (the patients) are going to see. After 45 minutes, I decided to mention that “we are still here, hope you didn’t forget about us.” I was “next on the list…” 15 more minutes and we finally got called to the back for weight and blood pressure check. Another 20 minutes… for a 3 minute consultation with the nurse practitioner!! By the time I got in my car it was 11:50!!!
This is Avery after an hour and a half of waiting. She was hungry and I didn’t have a snack because I wasn’t planning on being there that long. I opened the door at this point and let her cry it out, so all could hear. I even let her play with the door, opening and closing, opening and slamming it shut!

I would have left, but I had payed my co-pay and I’d already wasted time there. We were there so long that we saw people go in and come back out. One old lady asked us “you’re still here? She’s being a good girl…” and offered us some candy.

This is one reason I rarely go to the doctor. I haven’t been in about 9 months.

Boo at the Zoo

We went to Boo at the Zoo this year at the SB Zoo. We were pretty disappointed- we didn’t get to see any animals!! But we did get a lot of candy and saw some great costumes.

The theme was “fairytales” so Avery wore her Sleeping Booty dress and pincess shoes.

Could have been called “Boo @ the Park”

Our Little Princess

Avery is into princesses now. We went to two princess birthday parties only days apart. For a few days afterwards she kept asking about another princess party!
