dog people…

Ok, I have seen it all now. I know there are crazy “dog people” out there, but this lady takes the cake.

We went to the beach to play and there was this lady with her dog in a cute little carrier. That was fine. She sat on the rocks which I thought was weird, but whatever makes you comfortable. Then she began to wade in the water with the carrier… I guess the doggy wanted a closer look at the ocean and the waves.

fantabulous

Avery was in her very first wedding this afternoon and she did - fantabulous! All she had to do was walk down the aisle with Daniel. They did great. They held hands all the way down and smiled the whole way. First they had to practice- which Avery did very willingly.

Then we got to dance the night away!!

Sorry, I didn’t get a great picture of Nerida & Sean.

Pirate

We watched a show (Backyardigans) a few weeks ago about pirates. So Avery was introduced to the Jolly Roger.

We went bowling and there were some bowling balls for sale with skulls in them- she called them Pirate balls.

Then we were at the library and she found a “pirate” book. It was actually a book written after the song “Dem Bones.” So now all skeletons, bones and skulls are pirates!

I love FREE

I found this for free the other day. I was walking home with it piece by piece while Avery was pulling her wagon… I am sure were a sight. Then a nice guy in a big red truck offered to help us get it home. What a nice guy…

Our new toy isn’t in the greatest condition, but will do for a 2 year old just fine for now…

High School Musical

I wrote this weeks ago… it took me forever to download the pictures.

Avery decided she needed to really “dress up” for the “show.” She really did pick out the wings, necklaces and sunglasses herself. What a girlie girl…

We had a real “girls night out.” We started out with dinner in Santa Paula, then we went to see High School Musical at Briggs School. We had two little friends in the play and they both did an amazing job. My only complaint is that the play ended up being an hour and a half not 45 minutes!!

Kidfest… thumbs down

We went to Kidfest on Saturday and it was a big fat thumbs DOWN this year. We went last year and it was pretty fun, this year not so much. Here is Avery “fishing” for a cool flipflop bracelet. That was about the only thing she “did.” The other booths were all advertisements for companies and stuff. No food this year… weird! There wasn’t much to “do” there unless you paid $3 for a carnival ride.

So we walked to “The Carousel,” spent $5 in 45 minutes. It was a kind of ghetto Chuck E Cheese with a really cool carousel.

There was  a VERY ghetto “roller coaster.”  Avery loved it and rode it twice.  She kept telling us it was like “swing  at the park.”

She and Dan “stepped on the bugs” too. Her reaction time was a little too slow… she had help!
