Wedding Day

On Saturday Jenn & Will tied the knot. I didn’t get very many good pictures, but there that is why there was professional there.
When it was time for the father/daughter dance Dan and Avery took the floor too. Avery really liked dancing with Dan. I hope there will be many more dances like this to come… they looked so cute!

There were two ring bearers. Cody and CJ both did a great job during the ceremony. When it was time to dance they weren’t shy either! They did the run and slide thing across the dance floor.  Avery liked watching them slide.

Dropper

Avery has a bit of a runny nose and congestion right now so to help her
sleep we gave her some de-congestion stuff. It was pretty sad watching her try to suck her thumb and not be able to breath through her nose!

So I put the dropper in her mouth for her to suck the stuff out and then I put the dropper back in the medicine. Why? She is sick with germs! Why on earth do we put the germy dropper back into the medicine to use next next time? I just realized how silly that is.

Airplane Safety

We will be flying soon and so I am checking out a bunch of stuff about
on airplane safety. I have found 2 new “gadgets.”
This is called GOGO Kids Travelmate. It costs $90 plus shipping. Seems like it would be nice to have in the airport since you can use it as a stroller type thing, but then you don’t have a stroller when you get where you are going.

This other one is called CARES. It is about the same price! It’s just a harness that goes around the back of the seat and then you strap the kid in! Then you don’t have a car seat when you get where you are going.

I guess you just have to decide which you need when you get there.

Why didn’t I think of this? It is so simple!

He really is here…

Baby Pierson Alexander Brooks made his BIG debut at 8:13 this morning at Los Robles Medical Center in TO. Brooke did end up having a c-section. She was in labor for over 36 hours and did not progress! So, they drove to Los Robles to get that baby out. Jason, Brooke and baby are resting well now. Please don’t call them but send email instead.

Brooke will be in the hospital for four days. Then we can all go over and meet Mr. P when he is home!

Why do they do that?

This has happened to me twice since having a baby…

I am hoping a few of you could shed some light on this question. Since some of you have worked at grocery stores, and at this one in particular.

I am at the grocery store checking out and the bagger person is getting the groceries into the bags and puts them in a different cart than the one I am using. You know, the one with my kid in it! Then he asks me, “Do you want help out?” Well yes, I do want help out. How else am I going to get two carts out the door by myself? Do these people not think?

Postcards

We went to the Cheer Party at Starbucks on Tuesday evening.

Avery wrote (colored) a postcard to the troops in Iraq (and other places I am sure).

There was (foamy) snow- which Avery did not like at all. She was a little freaked out.  McGruff was driving a car and there free hot chocolate for all. And any tall drink you wanted.

Avery got a new ID card too from the Camarillo Police. She actually got a pretty good picture this time.

It was well worth the trip out there!

Snow Day

On Friday, I tried to write about the snow the mall was going to have and all the other cool stuff that was going to be there, but it didn’t work.

Dan, Avery and I went to the “snow & play” at Pacific View Mall on Saturday. We went at about 4 (parking was CRAZY, we parked out behind Mimi’s Cafe). There was separate part for kids under 5, which really should be for kids 4 and under. Avery liked it, but she didn’t want to hold the snow (which by then was ice chips because it was so warm) and she kept slipping. Then we headed to the “Main Stage” where B95.1 was playing music and there was dance floor. Avery got on the dance floor and did a boogie! I was waiting for the ballerinas to dance… and finally they did. It was a dance school from Santa Paula and there were about 6 performances total, not all ballet. Then the “Hula Girls” dances and that was cute too. We ate dinner at the mall an watched the fireworks from the balcony.

That is longest time we have ever spent at the mall and all we bought was some food!
