San Diego Zoo’s Wild Animal Park

Wow! What an adventure. We went to the Wild Animal Park. The weather was great and it wasn’t crowded at all. We decided to take the Safari Walk- walk the whole park on a trail! It took us the whole day. We didn’t see any shows. We watched about 15 minutes of the elephant show then left- it wasn’t so great.

The last thing we did was the Wgasa Bush Railway- 45 minutes. That was pretty cool, since that is closest you can get to the hippos, giraffes, tigers and lions. There were some baby giraffes- born only 2 weeks ago.
We saw the gorillas play and one even pooped- Dan thought it was going to throw it’s pool at us!! That would have been classic. Avery had fun, and seemed like she actually was looking at and interested in the animals.

There was “Savanna Springs”- fountain type things with water squirting out. That was fun, Avery and Dan got soaked- at least Avery had dry clothes to put on, Dan just air dryed.

Suggestion- bring your walking shoes!

Not to worry Avery is one now and well over 20 pounds.

I forgot to add Avery’s new stats;

32 .25 inches long (if she grows the way she has been, and we double her height at age 2 she will be 6 foot 2 inches!) 100th percentile
22 pounds and 15.5 ounces (23 pounds), 75th percentile

Her noggin is 18.5 inches around

Sear’s Essentials!!

Avery and I went to Sear’s Essentials this morning. Remember when Sear’s bought out K-Mart? Sear’s made some of the stores Sear’s Essentials and some they laft as K-Mart. Well, I hope they transform the crappy K-Mart in Ventura.
This place is awesome. It has all the K-Mart/Target stuff; seasonal, toys, bath, some groceries (yes, refridgerated), cleaning, cosmetic, music… and all the Sear’s stuff; shoes (real brands), clothes (Sear’s quality), furniture, BBQs, TVs and of coarse the TOOLS! It was great since you can go to a department store without going to the mall- since that has turned into a “project.”

No Power

Dan and I came home Saturday evening at 8 and there was no power. In the past it has gone off for no more than an hour or so. We woke up Sunday morning- still no power. Good thing we have hot water from gas- so we were able to shower. At church Matt G said the power came on at 10:30. Ok good! Well, we came home from church- still no power. The top half of Todd Ranch had their power restored, of coarse we did not. The street was even blocked off.
We didn’t open the fridge or freezer- but we knew a lot of the stuff needed to be thrown away. We went out to dinner and came home Sunday evening at 7:30 and finally there was power! Monday I had to go back to the store to buy all the yogurt, milk and stuff like that, that we had to throw away.
Is there a way to have the power company pay for our new groceries?

Root Beer Floats

While in Palm Springs one afternoon we had root beer floats. It has been so long since I  had a root beer float, it wa SO good. The kids loved them too, except that Josh’s had diet coke in it- he didn’t even notice.

Avery liked the ice-cream.

Josh ate all of his and some of Jack's...
