Still Gestating
We are definitely 0n our way to labor, yet not close enough… I keep telling myself, when she’s ready to come out, she will- I just hope she’s not too comfy in there! We’ll see.

I was watching the news tonight and one of the “news” worthy stories made me crazy.
There is a guy, who holds public office, in Alabama that wants to ban all books in public schools & libraries that are written by or about homosexuals! This doesn’t make any sense. He did comment that some “classics” would be permitted. Who decided what a classic is?
I wonder if the books about satanists, incest and polygamy are ok?
Herman Melville, Shakespeare, Whitman, Michelangelo, Tennessee Williams & Homer have all been “accused” of being gay or at least writing about gay characters.
Greek Mythology (Achilles & Patroclus) & history (Socrates & Plato) are both full of homosexuals.
Any thoughts on this?
UGH! I am ready to give birth- I think. So far there is no indication that will happen in the next week or so. We’ll see. I guess it could happen at any time. The sooner the better.
Here is a picture of our cat, Pitty-Pitty. She sleeps all day long in the same place. At night she sleeps even more…
She is blind in one eye and pretty old, but we love her.
I went to go see “A Chorus Line” at Ventura College. It was great. There were people from all over in the play, not just VC students. Some were “professionals” and some were just regular people. The singing, acting and dancing were all great- not broadway but pretty darn good for a community production.
No intermission though- that was tough!
A funny story from today…
D: Do you know when Zoe’s birthday is?
Me: No. When is it?
D: September 11th!
Me: Oh, well, she can’t help what day she was born, it’s still her birthday…
D: I guess, but it’s a good thing they don’t celebrate it. They don’t have to worry about…
Me: Huh? Oh, yeah.
Her family is Jehovah’s Witness, so they don’t celebrate anything… funny story.
Today I was able to volunteer my time for the Special Olympics Swim Meet. There were 9 teams from all over the area and far away (as far as Kern County). It was awesome. I love it.
I am the person who announces who receives the ribbons and medals. Theses kids (and adults) get so excited to get a ribbon or medal but they are also very proud of themselves that they have completed their race.
If anyone is interested you can volunteer next year too. The meet is the second Sunday in April at the Ventura College Aquatic Center. I’ll remind you next year that it is coming up…
As I was driving today, I saw a sight…
There was a gardner “pruning” a very tall bush (wall). He wasn’t using an electric gadget though, he was using a machete type thing. Very odd…
Today I went to the neonatalogist. Avery is measuring just fine- in the 70 percentile. She is already 6 pounds 6 ounces. The doctor seems to think we may have our girl in about 2 and a half weeks. He said that she will probably be under 8 pounds. We’ll see.
We watched “Saw” last night. It was a “thriller” and “suspense” more than a horror movie. We both liked it. The writers definitely left it open for a part two.
I got to see “The Pacifier” today with Vin Diesel. It was actually pretty funny. No bad language. There was some “kung-fu” style fighting, I guess that is why it was rated PG. I won’t be buying this one though.
