No More Flipturns @ 29 Weeks

Well, the day has come! I can no longer do flipturns at the pool when I am swimming. It takes me way to long to get my body to do a summersault, and I have to use my arms to get myself over as opposed to using stomach muscles. Very sad. What’s next?

On Restriction- Update

So the two boys were supposed to be on restriction till the end of the month. Well, here is the update;
The older boy, R’s birthday was last Thursday, he got two new video games- so of coarse he got to play them- it was his birthday. Then their mom made a deal with them- if they both “behave” while on a trip for the long weekend, the restriction would be taken away!
So, if you are “bad” and get a punishment, all you have to do is be “good” to get out of it!

Thank you Auntie Glenda

My sister Glenda bought us the stroller and car seat for baby Avery. Dan and I, (mostly Dan), put it together this morning. It looks great. We feel more ready now. Thank you Glenda!

Pictures

I went to the neo natalogist in Thousand Oaks. We went all the way to T.O. because it was the first appointment that I could get, we didn’t want to wait.
The office was great. The goopy stuff they put on before the ultra sound was warm! There was a different computer screen for me to look at to see what was going on and the tech explained everything I was looking at. What a genius!
Ok, so the appointment went really well. Everything is where it should be, the rite size and shape. Dr. Jadali said everything looks great, he doesn’t seem worried at all. I will go back in four weeks (instead of two) for another check on the growth of baby Avery.
I feel so much better and at great peace now. Thank you all so much for your prayers, we really appreciate them- all three of us. Dan is scanning the pictures we got rite now- so check them out. They are amazing!

She is doing ASL for “food.”

On Restriction

This is an update to the earlier post “Blood.” Just wanted to let you all know what the punishment was for that whole fiasco! The boys are on “restriction” meaning they cannot have any “play dates” for the month- no going over to friends houses, they cannot play on the computer (meaning X-box too) or play basketball. They are allowed to play outside and get this- they are allowed to WATCH TV! When I was on restriction first thing to go was TV!

Blood…

This afternoon was the first real “emergency” I’ve experienced with the two boys I pick up after school.
The 7 year old (D) was playing a game on the computer and the 10 year old (R) was bugging him, cheering for the computer to win. This really bothered the D and he made this clear, asking him to stop. I guess R gave D a little slap on the face, this made D REALLY mad, so he poked R in the eye! Next thing I know R is on the floor crying covering up his face. I honestly thought he was joking around since he was wailing and I’ve never heard him cry before. After a few seconds I decided to check it out. R was bleeding profusely from somewhere on his face, but I couldn’t tell where since there was so much blood! He kept asking me if it was coming from his eye- I thought “God I hope not, that much blood from the eye would mean a trip to the ER,” no fun! I got him to the kitchen sink and a little cleaned up, he was still bleeding a lot, but I could see it was wasn’t from his eye, but his nose. I think he scratched his nose when he went to grab his eye. The eye lid was swollen by the way. After about 10 minutes of bleeding into the sink he was able to “pinch” it and sit down. The clean-up was GROSS! Blood all over the sink and his shirt was pretty much saturated. After another 5 minutes of “resting” the blood stopped and he was able to take his shirt off and clean up his hands and face.
When their mom got home, she was pissed. She gave them the “wait till you father gets home” speech. I’m not sure what I would do as punishment if I were the parent. D did not mean to hurt R that bad. But R was pestering D to point where D “lost it” and got physical, not that getting physical is appropriate. As the older brother R knows what to do to really piss D off and get a reaction, in a way he was “asking for it.” The funny part is, D will end up being bigger than R by middle school, so R better get his licks in now- he better watch out!

Rodents

My dad called me today. They live in Boise, Idaho, you know- wilderness. He started out by telling me there had been an emergency. I was a bit freaked out, what happened? Well, at 3 o’clock in the morning my sister woke and began to scream. She smelled a skunk and could hear something under her bed! I would have screamed too! Well, it was the dog Maizie, that had been sprayed by a skunk and was under the bed trying to clean herself. My dad got the dog into the garage but my sister’s room STUNK! They had to call a special “cleaning” company to try to get the carpet smelling okay. She had to strip her bed, and clean the sheets and stuff multiple times. She threw her pillows away, and they aren’t sure about the mattress yet. My dad thinks they will have to get new carpet in there too! They called the vet and are trying to get the dog unstinky. Glad we don’t have a dog- I’ll be keeping my kittty inside tonight!
