Some Nerve

Last night we went to my aunt’s house for a belated Mother’s Day dinner. As we were finishing up and “watching” the baby, the doorbell rang. It was the neighbor across the street ( a young guy, in high school I think) asking if “that” was our car? Yes, our car was parked on the street in front of his house- not blocking his driveway or anything. He asked if we would move it because he needed to park there! My aunt does not like to make waves, so she told Dan to move it. Dan wanted to tell him off, since we were parked legally on a public street, but didn’t!
Can you believe the nerve he had to ask us to move our car? Oh, and yes, there were other places to park. Dan just backed our car up one spot.

  1. Dan just backed our car up one spot.

To describe this a little better; I got in my car looking pissed, started it, then proceeded to back up 40 feet, stoped, got out of the car, slammed the door, then looked over and shook my head on the way back to the house.

Unbelievable, made me move my car so he could see his 87 red escort out his front window.

  2. Dan, parenting must be making you soft; you should have just told him no. I guess since you were a guest at the house and it was actually Sara’s aunt that asked you, you did the right thing.

It would have been cool if you waited till he parked his car and then parked really close to it (like less than an inch) just to see what he said.

  3. Additionally, the kid looked like crap, and was about an inch from being plain insolent. You did the right thing, as PAH really didn’t want to make waves. Thanks for being so understanding. Bill
