proud?

I am watching American Idol and I have a comment to make…

Some of these people are so happy when their parents say “I am so proud of you” or “I love you.” Like they hardly ever hear it … that is so sad to me.

There have been a few that are just speechless when they here those words.

    i wish my parents told me they were proud of me more often. my dad does on occasion, but i’m not sure if my mom ever has. i sure would mean a lot if she did. i doubt lisa’s parents ever have to her.

    I’ve been thinking the same thing. Do they really feel loved though? Its performance based affirmation, not exactly what I would call true parental love.
