This is an evening, mommy-and-me class for kids 18 mo to 3 years. This week we focused on elephants.

I got a few books about Elmer the Patchwork Elephant from the library. We have a plush Elmer for the kids to hold. I also had three other stuffed elephants for the kids to play with and hold. Since we read a few Elmer books we made a fabulous Elmer craft.

The kids used paint brushed with watered down glue to cover the pieces of the elephant, then they put down the the pieces of tissue papers. The kids liked the glueing and the tissue paper. I think their favorite part was putting down the sticker eyes.  Cute, huh?

We played the game Elefun. The kids had a great time trying to catch the colorful butterflies that flew out of the elephants trunk. No need for the nets for kids this age, they just liked to try to catch them all.
